Movies – The Importance of Casting

Could anyone else play those character this well, at Oscar level? I doubt it. And the interesting thing is, success of casting has nothing to do whatsoever with the abilities of the individual actors involved.

Review of Play It Again, Sam – Starring Woody Allen and Diane Keaton

“Play It Again, Sam” is a hilarious film starring Woody Allen and Diane Keaton. As always, Woody’s acting and humor is superb in this film. The movie is a clever sort of spoof of Casablanca, with Jerry Lacy playing the role of Humphrey Bogart’s ghost, who guides the under-confident recent divorce Allen Felix, played by Woody, through romance. The movie ends with a scene spoofing the famous scene at the end of Casablanca outside the airport in which Rick bids Ilsa and her husband farewell.

Review of National Lampoon’s Animal House – Starring John Belushi, Tim Matheson, and John Vernon

“National Lampoon’s Animal House” is one of my favorite comedies. The story and acting is a riot, especially John Belushi’s performance as Bluto Blutarsky, a wreckless die-hard partier whose only life ambition is to have as much fun as possible. John Vernon also delivers an excellent performance as Dean Wormer, the heartless Faber College dean who is out to get the Delta fraternity at all costs.

She’s a riot in this film, delivering a much better performance in it than in any other movie I’ve seen her in. Ryan O’Neal is also a riot, as is Madeline Kahn as his bossy and uptight fiancee.

In the mean time people are watching as Anna Nicole, who has now assumed room temperature, is having her bones picked over by the circling predators.
