Bald and Free Day

We would never condone name calling, but some classic names for a follicularly challenged guy might be baldy, cue ball or Mr. Clean. If you have already lost your hair, you should really be celebrating instead of feeling sad – especially since October 14th is Bald and Free Day. This special day is for the 40 million of you guys in the US who suffer with androgenetic alopecia, also known as male pattern baldness. While your secret dreams of singing lead for a “hair band” may be gone forever, there are still many of opportunities for a bald guy to get noticed. In fact, some popular bald characters would make great costumes to celebrate this hair-free day as well as Halloween later in the month.

Glee Season 1 DVD Reviews – Let’s Take A Look

Glee’s second season is currently airing on TV and the Glee Season 1 DVD was released this past fall. Given that, I thought I’d do a user review round-up on the Glee Season 1 DVD and show you exactly what you will be getting.

Takers the Movie – Movie Reviews

We join the movie as our protagonists are undergoing a bank robbery, that goes as smooth as they planned, leaving no trace as to their identities or who could have done the job, and they even have the courtesy to wave at the security camera (masked of course) and offer a signature salute. It is left to two cops Jack Welles and Eddie Hatcher played by Jay Hernandez (The Rookie) to figure out who carried out the robbery, with basically nothing else to go on except the heights of the culprits, and their gestures to the camera.

Buy Cable

Not only do new developments in digital cable television technology make the amount of channels that may potentially be delivered effectively infinite, but it can also make the TV content easier to manage and simpler to get the most out of. And getting the most out of something instantly increases its’ worth.

Movie Crazy

Are you crazy for movies? I must admit I’m a cracker for movies. So, all those who consider themselves movie crazy raise your hands. Yup, that’s almost everybody. Why are we movie crazy? Why do we live in a movie crazed society? Hey, what are movies anyway?

The Walking Dean and Zombie Costumes

Zombies are all the rage these days, even giving those tired vampires a run for their money. Zombies are everywhere in popular culture, even taking over some of the great classics of literature, case in point, the mash up novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a Victorian tale spun with the decaying flesh of zombies. Plus there are zombie-inspired video games, movies, music videos and television shows. For example, AMC has a brand new series called The Walking Dead which premiered on October 31, 2010 (Halloween, of course). Already a hit with horror-genre fans, this show takes the standard zombie story and updates it for the modern viewer with great yet grim humor.

Harry Potter Deathy Hallows Costumes

On Friday November 19th, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: The Hunt Begins opens in theaters nationwide. This final chapter of the Harry Potter film franchise will be broken down into 2 parts, with the last coming out sometime in July 2011. The plot of this film follows the book to the same degree that the other films do. Here, Harry, Ron and Hermione leave the safety of Hogwarts to find and destroy the Horcurxes – the secret to the evil Lord Voldemort

A Celebrity-Worthy Dancing Gorilla Costume

Dancing With The Stars always has some interesting costumes waltzing, jitter-bugging and cha-chaing across the polished hardwood floors. Usually the female dancers are wearing extremely revealing and sexy costumes that make on question – how does that slip of fabric even stay on?! However, on October 18, 2010, contestant Bristol Palin wore a dancing costume that was a bit more covered up – a gorilla suit!

Snooki’s Jersey Shore Pickle Costume

Holy bump-its! It appears that Snooki costumes were one of the top sellers in women’s costumes during the Halloween 2010 season. Snooki, aka Nicole Polizzi, is the star of MTV’s reality series JerseyShore who is most famous for her diminutive size, poofed-up hair and sassy “guidette” attitude. Even though she’s tiny, Snooki is not one to be messed with – although a drunken bar patron did infamously punch in the face on one series.

Everyone Loves Lucy Costumes

Remember the sitcom I Love Lucy starring America’s favorite redhead, Lucille Ball? This super popular television show, still filmed in black and white, ruled almost the entire decade of the 1950s. The character Lucy was married to singer-bandleader Ricky (Desi Arnez) on the television show and he was also her real-life hubby. Set in New York City, Lucy was known for her uncanny knack for getting into trouble and kept audiences laughing along with her slapstick-style comedy. Who can forget the episodes where she accidentally gets drunk filming a health tonic commercial or where she and friend Ethel end-up working in a candy factory and can’t keep up with the conveyor belt – so they just gobble up the goodies?!
