Bo and Luke Duke and Their Moral Authority

Boss Hog is not a happy man. His money-making schemes are constantly being foiled by Bo and Luke Duke. He isn’t necessarily a bad guy he is just a corrupt politician that sees Hazzard County as his means to riches. The guy’s a politician, a greedy, ambitious, and stubborn politician.

The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec

Luc Besson came to prominence as the writer/director responsible for some of the most iconic French films of the Cinema Du Look period including Subway, The Big Blue, Nikita and Leon. His career faltered with the release of The Fifth Element, the overblown and unhinged Sci-Fi saga starring Bruce Willis. Since then his output has been largely hit and miss, concentrating his efforts more as a writer/producer for the action oriented Taxi and Transporter franchises.

Movies On DVD: The Adjustment Bureau – Not Meant To Be

The marketing for The Adjustment Bureau would have you believe that it is a suspenseful SciFi film with a dash of romance. This is very misleading.

Movie Review – Captain America: The First Avenger

I’ve already seen Captain America twice – something that would imply that I think the movie is great. However, this is a bit more complicated. So complicated that I am going to resort to the old pros and cons list to describe my feelings about this film.

Movie Review: Green Lantern – For Kids Only

Comic book movies like The Dark Knight and Iron Man have proven that super hero stories don’t always have to be just for kids. Green Lantern however is a movie that is quite the opposite destined to be remembered only by comic book aficionados and 11 year old boys (until the next super hero movie). Ryan Reynolds stars as Hal Jordan a hot shot test pilot who is brash and irresponsible but also a really good pilot (duh).

The Cars of 007 – James Bond (Part 5 – The 90s)

The 1980s had been a strange decade for the James bond franchise. Roger Moore, perhaps the most beloved actor to portray Bond, had seen his reign end with 1985s “A View To A Kill” and was subsequently replaced with new heir apparent Timothy Dalton. The transition from Moore to Dalton happened very smoothly, there was no down time in the release schedule of movies and it seemed as though MGM wanted to keep the franchise running smoothly despite the re-casting of the lead character.

The Rise of Jon Hamm

Therein lays part of the mystery of Jon Hamm. Not only is he now considered a superlative actor and A-list celebrity, but you can’t find anyone who matters to say a cross word about him.

Goodbye Sherwood Schwartz, Thanks For The Memories

If you have watched American television in the past 40 years you have no doubt seen at least some of the work created by Sherwood Schwartz. Schwartz, who died this week at the age of 94, was responsible for creating “The Brady Bunch” and “Gilligan’s Island.”

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes Film Review

Revolution? It’s the only solution. Well, that’s what Serj Tankian used to say. Of course, success in this capitalist circus we’ve engineered tends to blunt our revolutionary zeal. But it seems evolution is Twentieth Century Fox’s solution, to judge from the way they seem intent on reinventing their Planet Of The Apes franchise.

Making of Visual Effects – The Harry Potter Movies

Part of the magic of the Harry Potter movies is the special effects; spells, flying on broomsticks, a flying car, disappearing in a fireplace, it all happens when Harry Potter is around, but how is the making of visual effects done? Actually there are several special effects companies which collaborate, depending on their specific area of expertise. This is how just some of the effects are created.

Rodeo Cowboy Champion Who Made Movies

The large bronze statue of rodeo cowboy Casey Tibbs on the good bronc Necktie stands in front of the ProRodeo Hall of Fame & Museum of the American Cowboy for good reason. Tibbs, who won nine world championship titles, did more than any single individual to put professional rodeo on the map during the 1950s. His memorable performance on Necktie was described as the “perfect eight-second ride (made) with perfect form.” The highlight of his Hollywood career is the 1966 documentary “Born to Buck,” which he produced and directed.

Madison McKinley: Damages Season 4 – Madison Garton

Madison McKinley, reality star, actress and model, is probably best known for her work on ABCs “The Bachelor – Season 15,” where she was a contestant in the Spring of 2011. You may not recognize her given name, but as a contestant on the popular reality series she was nicknamed “Fang Girl,” which is how you may recognize her.
