The new series HawthoRNe premiered on TNT June 16, 2009. The drama series is set in present time in Trinity Hospital in Richmond, VA. and the storyline is told from the point of view of Christina Hawthorne (chief nursing officer) played by Jada Pinkett Smith. Christina Hawthorne is a caring nurse who is a single mother raising a rebellious teenage daughter after her husband died a year ago. Christina has a soft spot in her heart for a homeless woman (Isabelle) who just gave birth without the aid of the hospital staff but Christina helps her in any way that she can.
